1. Read Exodus 16 – 17 and describe the challenges Israel faced.


2. How did God provide for His people?


3. What do we learn from 1 Corinthians 10:1-6,11 about the meaning and purpose of these events?


Read Exodus 19 – 20

4. Now that God has established the nation promised to Abraham, He is to make a covenant with Israel. In Exodus 19:6, God invites Israel to enter into covenant. What does God expect of Israel, and what will God do for them?


5. How did the people respond (vs. 8)?


6. Using phrases from Ex. 19, describe what happened when God descended on Mt. Sinai. (Include references)


7. a) The presence of God is manifested with glory. Describe what 2 Corinthians 3:7-8, 17-18 teaches about the glory of God and the believer.

b) Can you recall a time of being especially aware of the glory of God? What about now in daily life?


8. In Exodus 20, verses 1–21, God begins to put forth the terms of the covenant. Which commandments deal with a) Man’s relationship with God?


b) Man’s relationship with man?


9. What is God’s purpose in manifesting His presence and giving the law? See vs. 20 (Also, keep in mind lesson one and the chief problem of man.)


10. Carefully read Exodus 24 and explain the events of the ceremony inaugurating the covenant of the Law (verses 3–8).


11. What insight does Hebrews give us about this event in chapter 9:18–22; 10:10?


12. Have you been cleansed by the blood of Christ? How do you live in response to what God has done?


Skim Exodus 25 – 31 to see what God instructed Moses on the mountain.

13. What do we learn from the following verses about:

a) The purpose of the tabernacle 25:8

b) The holiness of the ark of the covenant 25:22

c) The housing of the ark 26:31-34

d) The priesthood 28:1,29-30

e) The tabernacle furniture 25:23-30; 25:31-40; 27:1-8; 27:20,21; 30:1-8

f) The construction of the tabernacle and its furnishings 31:1-11

14. Why do you think that God gives such attention to the construction of his dwelling place?


15. Keeping the tabernacle in mind, read 1 Corinthians 3:16 and Ephesians 2:19-22. Tell how the purpose of the tabernacle is fulfilled in the church.


16. How will this truth effect how you walk before God? (Keep in mind 2 Corinthians 3:12-18 and the glory of God.)


17. Please read Deuteronomy 28 and list the blessings for obedience to the covenant and the corresponding curses for disobedience.

19. Reading further in verses 13–14, tell what Christ has done and how we receive the blessing of Abraham.


20. Read Galatians 3:15-29. Using phrases from the passage, tell the following (provide references):

a) The purpose of the law


b) Blessing through faith in Christ


21. Let’s take a look at some of the blessings we have in Christ. List all the blessings you can find in Ephesians 1:3-12.


There is nobody else who could do all that for you. Rejoice in Him this week knowing the fullness of His blessing. He has done great and eternal things for you.
