6. What phrase is repeated to all the churches?

7. As you read what the Spirit says to the seven churches, listen to what He is saying to you.

Read Chapters 4 and 5

8. Describe the throne and the Lamb.

9. Use phrases from chapter 4, verses 9 and 10 to tell of His worthiness.

10. From chapter 5, what do you think the scroll represents, and what is the relationship between the prayers of the saints and the Lamb opening the seals?

11. What do we learn from Revelation 7 about a) God’s care for His own?

b) The experience of departed saints?

12. Read Revelation 8 – 19. Our purpose here is not to get caught up in the details but to view the big picture. As you read, take note of the following (please give references for each):

a) The sovereignty of God over all events and powers

b) God’s servants and their role

c) God’s enemies and their aim

13. Recalling Peter’s exhortation to persevere in trial, how does the knowledge of God’s sovereignty and Christ’s victory encourage you to stand as the whole world system stands in opposition to the Righteous King?

Read Revelation 20 – 22

14. What does Revelation 20:4-6 teach about the position of departed saints? Compare this passage with 2 Timothy 2:10-13.

15. Briefly describe the final crisis described in Revelation 20:7-10.

16. As fire comes down from heaven in judgment, the devil meets his end. Rev. 20:11-15 describes this same judgment from a different perspective. What do we learn about the final judgment from this passage? (For Jesus’ teaching on his return in judgment, see Matthew 13:24-30; 13:47-50; 24:29-31.)

17. Read the beautiful imagery of Revelation 21, which describes the future glory of the church. What aspect of this picture impresses you the most? Why?

18. Compare Revelation 22 with Genesis 2. List all the similarities you find between the Garden of Eden and the New Jerusalem.

19. What hope and encouragement do you gain from the fact that one day, when all God’s purposes are fulfilled, we will have come full circle and will again live in a sinless paradise with God who will say, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man?” (Rev. 21:3)

Revelation 22:20-21 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen
