1. What charges does God bring against Israel and Judah?
2. List phrases showing their a) Punishment. (Include references)
b) Hope of restoration.
3. Read Hosea 9:1-3 and explain what you learn from this passage concerning Israel's (Ephraim's) specific punishment.
4. Read Jeremiah 25:1-14 and explain what you learn from this passage concerning Judah's specific punishment.

5. Providing references, list the things God says concerning a) His covenant
b) His word?
6. Describe in your own words what God means when he says, "Everyone walked in the stubbornness of his evil heart."
7. What do you learn from this chapter about the heart of God?
8. What do you learn about your own heart as you consider the relationship between the heart and obedience to God's word?
9. Read 2 Kings 17. From verses 3-5, describe how the prophecy of Hosea 9:1-3 was fulfilled.
10. In verse 7 we have the phrases, "This occurred because...." List the reasons given for the exile of Israel.
11. What was the people's attitude toward God's covenant and his word?
12. What warnings do you derive from Israel's failure and its consequences?
Read 2 Chronicles 32-35 with 2 Kings 18-19
13. What threat does Jerusalem face in these chapters?
14. Use phrases from these passages (please provide references) that demonstrate Assyria's contempt for Judah and for God.
15. a) How does King Hezekiah respond to this threat?
b) What is the result?
16. After Hezekiah's payer and deliverance, his son did not walk in his ways. Read 2 Chronicles 33:1-20. Write phrases that show Manasseh's a) Sin
b) Repentance
c) Restoration
17. What do you learn from Hezekiah and Manasseh's stories about God's willingness to forgive and his responsiveness to prayer?
18. Summarize 2 Chronicles 36 and 2 Kings 24:10-25:21 to show how Jeremiah's prophecy in 25:1-14 was fulfilled.
19. Read Isaiah 9:1-7. Including references, give phrases that provide:
a) Hope as Israel faces the consequences of sin
b) Promise of a Righteous King and kingdom
20. According to Matthew 4:12-17, how is this prophecy fulfilled?
21. How do the promises of Christ's kingdom encourage you as you face trials in this temporal world?
22. Read Isaiah 14:1-27. Give references and phrases for the hope God gave concerning:
a) Jacob's restoration and return to his own land.
b) God's judgment on Babylon and Assyria
23. Read Daniel 5; 2 Chronicles 36:22-23, and Ezra 1. Describe in your own words how God fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah 14.
24. How does knowing that God's word proves true sustain you as you face the trials and temptations common to all men?
